ABOUT ME!
Hey y’all, my name is Emilia Grace Escobar (she/hers) and I am currently based in New York City- originally born and raised in sunny Tampa, FL. I am an actor, singer, musician, dancer, writer, composer, and collaborator! Creating art has always been a passion of mine. I am a recent graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with my B.F.A. in Drama and a minor in Environmental Studies. My first two years of training were with the New Studio on Broadway, focusing on musical theatre. The rest of my academic career and training were spent with Stonestreet Studios for Film and Television, learning how to be on both sides of the camera.
When not on stage or set, I am actually a professionally trained beekeeper on the rooftops of Manhattan. Environmental justice and mental health advocacy are major passions of mine and I am constantly looking for ways I can interrogate their intersection with art. I am a proud tia to my nieces and nephew, and parent to my cats and dog.
My entire background in art is rooted in family. I grew up in Florida with a single mom and two sisters, so family has always been very important to me. I taught myself piano and guitar at a young age before learning the cello and mandolin. Music has been a great vessel for me to express my Chicane and queer identity through art.
I would love to connect and collaborate with creatives interested in making beautiful art whether it be on the stage or screen!
